The Buying Experience

OUR CONSULTATIVE APPROACH

After listening to your needs, discussing your wish list, and understanding your timing, we talk about the best vessel for you.  We dive deep, searching far and wide, using a global yacht multiple listing service (MLS) to find the right boat at the right price for you.  We also discuss whether or not you need your boat to earn revenue and/or become a tax write-off.  With 20 years of experience in yacht sales and management, this has become one of our specialties. We can provide financial insights, which in turn you can discuss with your CPA or financial advisor.

SURVEY AND SHIPYARD ASSISTANCE

Through our vetted network, we can recommend qualified marine and mechanical surveyors for you to work with, who are accredited by the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) or the National Association of Marine Surveyors.  Through our solid relationships with many shipyards, we can also assist in having your boat hauled out of the water, so that a marine surveyor can thoroughly inspect the part of your boat that sits below the waterline.

SECURING A SLIP

Sometimes the hardest part of buying a boat is finding a good home for her.  With 20 years of experience in Southern California’s marine industry, we have nurtured relationships with marina managers to assist you in securing a good slip.

BOAT INSTRUCTION

Whether you are new to boating or a seasoned boater, there is always something more to learn, especially the idiosyncrasies of your specific new yacht.  We have ten captains and boating instructors who work for our sister company, the Newport Beach Sailing School, who can help you acquire the skills and knowledge you need to handle your new power or sailing yacht with confidence and ease.

TRUSTED MARINE VENDOR REFERRALS

Know where to go for yacht insurance?  What about maintenance and servicing?  For example, Who is a good diver?  Who can service your engine?  Who can tune your rig?  Where do you get parts?  Suggestions for trusted marine vendors are included as part of our service to you.
